Basement Makeover in Peckham

Here is our next completed project for one of existing clients in May 2024. Whole project took us 31 days from scratch.

Previous good storage place converted to fabulous living area with all benefits for a nice chill out, utility area and plenty of storage benefits. We created a spacious, open-concept layout to maximise the available square footage.

As the current basement already existed, we have modernised based customer budget and criteria. Most of the important tasks customer wanted is to rebuild existing very narrow stairs to make an entrance more comfortable and improve living area by lower the floor as low as possible to rich standard ceiling height. Rest of the tasks we managed to cooperate with client matching their criteria.

This renovation has not only increased the usable living space but also added significant value to the home. The client is thrilled with the results, and the transformed basement is now a favourite gathering spot for family and friends.

Note to the landlords: If there are lead pipes or another source of lead present, these should be replaced as soon as possible. If your home was built before 1970, there’s a chance it will have lead pipes. Lead from these pipes can seep into the water you drink which, over a very long period, can be harmful. It’s the responsibility of the homeowner to replace lead pipes within the boundary of the property.

Removed the old concrete incl clay, this is about 25cm where we have won ceiling height.
Waterproofing, matching customer budget.
Natural ventilation incl extractor fan installation as additional point.
Replaced existing led feed for 32mm plastic pipe into the basement.
Re-plumbed and install combi boiler, by bringing down from the 1^st floor to the basement.
Installed new drainage for the washing machine, sink, incl hot and cold-water supply
Levelled basement ceiling, insulation.
Whole rewiring in the basement incl consumer unit replacement.
Walls insulation using Thermal EPS Plasterboard 27mm.
Skimming, painting and decorating.
Underfloor heating by splitting for 2 sections (utility room and leaving area).
Carpentry which incl built-in shelving and bespoke cabinetry were designed to keep the space organised and clutter-free, bottom foundation wooden work using Phenolic Film Plywood, bespoke stairs, high-quality vinyl planks.
All other small bits and pieces finalised whole project in detail.
Gas Safe and Electrical Certification after completion.
